The app kept closing while I was in the waiting room for my appointment
Been sick for a week was out of area for use of urgent care. Needed help but was too exhausted to go. Thank you for listening and helping me get better!
This app made my video visit with family medicine Dr extremely easy and was affordable. They took my insurance and the entire experience took me less than 15 minutes vs driving to urgent care and setting for an hour waiting to be seen. My minor stuff will always go through this Amwell from this point on.
I scheduled a therapy session for support with academic stress in pursuit of my masters degree, and someone trespassing who I asked to respect “no trespassing” signs, and recent vandalism of my vehicle. The therapist asked me about my self-care and sleep, I shared my diet, routine grocery shopping and weekly fitness goals and the platforms I use for biometric activity tracking, including sleep. The therapist challenged my fitness efforts, I offered to send her access or reports-admittedly the therapist was googling platform names while we were in session-the therapist began to portray confusion. Then the therapist thought calling the police was a bad idea, to report trespassing or neighbor use of cannabis outdoors in the presence of an adolescent, in Florida it is against the law to use outside of a home, even with medicinal prescription. I was advised to stay inside, close my doors and windows and avoid people, minding my own business. Next, therapist gave opinion that using a non-negotiable list to determine compatibility in dating was inappropriate use of boundaries. Then, abruptly, the video call session ended without notice, while the therapist was talking. There was no closing to the call, no next steps, no mode of communication for continuation of care. A report popped up on the screen indicating I am homicidal and suicidal. I found in app messaging and contacted the provider to express concern with the closing of the call, asking for next steps and the report that I read. The therapist was avoidant, indicated she didn’t have control of the video call session, and told me to schedule another session if I wanted her to correct the reporting and to bring a list of problems we can discuss. I remind her we just reviewed my list of challenges I wanted to discuss and that she asked me if I had suicidal thoughts, and that I responded I have not had any suicidal thoughts. She responded that I should seek therapy with someone else moving forward and thanked me for the session. I contacted Amwell. I received an email indicating my interaction was reviewed and I would not receive a refund. To be clear, I never asked for a refund when calling to express this strange experience.
I had ear pain and a cold. I used my son’s Tylenol ear scope to video my ear cannel. The Tylenol app directed me to Amwell to see a doctor. They have a special appointment type for the Tylenol ear scope which I signed up for. I waited. The doctor I saw DIDN’T watch the ear scope videos. After chatting about my cold for a while, I eventually asked him what he had seen in the videos. Could I send him a picture, he said? The appointment ended with him telling me he thought I was probably fine.
Worst doctor I have ever seen in my entire life. He just told me I need to be sick with my sinus infection for 12 days before he could prescribe antibiotics. I have chronic sinusitis after a sinus surgery about 3 years ago. I have never in my life had a doctors tell me I have to be sick for 12 days before they pups give me medicine to get me better. This app was the biggest waste of my time and if I get charged for a doctor who refused to treat me, I will be furious. I will never use this app again and if you want proper treatment, I would suggest you NEVER use it!
The app itself is a 3/5. But their team? I’ve had 3 claims with billing issues. 2 were a result of an outage of their system that connected with insurance. One was due to them billing my insurance for a completely different provider that I never saw. They kept my cc on file and billed when they made a mistake. The worst was when they gave me a “courtesy refund” after I paid the bill, then asked for the money back and said “The refund was not a dismissal of the balance due, the refund was a courtesy to allow you to issue payment at your convivence. This balance is now due.” Does this make sense to anyone? Avoid them, for your own sanity.
Warning: Apparently, Amwell does not recognize certain phone numbers to create accounts and if you do not want to get a new number to use this app, then avoid.
Everyone was courteous, everyone was prompt, everyone was kind and compassionate. Quick and efficient. Was able to talk to my provider from the comfort of My Home .
Very kind and knowledgeable Listened to my symptoms and made me feel at ease.
Wonderful doctors and wonderful care! I like the fact that I’m not exposing myself to other people’s illnesses while going to urgent care!
Please don’t waste your money here if you need any type of prescription. I just got off the phone with one of their doctors after waiting for an hour to get a call, I’ve got a 102.8 fever and severe congestion in my ears thats very painful. She told me to use an over the counter nose spray. Absolutely pathetic, waste of my time and money.
Quick and easy. No need to use PTO for a clinic appointment.
Can’t do anything but smoking cessation
This was so great! I love that my daughter could be seen without waiting hours in a crowed waiting room! The Provider was so kind and knowledgeable. We will definitely do this from now on!
Our doctor was great and the visit was private considering my daughter was apprehensive to go into an urgent care clinic. Thorough but prompt!
My husband has had prolonged sinus issues & now ear pain, he was able to discuss his symptoms & get an antibiotic sent over to pharmacy of choice. The appointment was scheduled within minutes, which was extremely convenient & easy! Highly recommend! Much easier & affordable than scheduling an appointment with our primary care physician or urgent care. Highly recommend!
Doctor took her time to explain everything. Android app didn’t work so I had to use iPhone
First time using. I decided this morning it was time to see a doctor but didn’t want to spend hours visiting a walk in. I was on the video call with a doctor in less than an hour. Doctor was friendly and efficient. Super easy setup and process. Will be using from now on.
This was so convenient, fast and easy
We are a household full of sick little ones. This was a great option to have so we didn’t have to round up everyone to go to an urgent care 40 minutes away.
Great Doctor and he answered quickly he was patient and nice .
I also had one provider decline to see me after I left the waiting room of another provider. Quick visit once you’ve been seen though.

This app used to be good until BCBS got directly involved. I used it for first time since, took me 5 times to not be disconnected. When someone did answer they were no help at all and told me to see the Dr because they couldn’t provide anything. Even after saying my daughter probably had bronchitis, but couldn’t confirm without listening to lungs. What a joke.
Wonderful doctor! Fast, easy treatment from home!
I used Amwell on Monday and the prescription I received was wrong. It is now Friday and the prescription has not been fixed despite four calls to customer service. There is no function to message the provider directly; whenever I hit send message it will not allow me to populate a name so it is not functional. Not being able to access the provider defeats the purpose of this app; you will pay for an appointment and then need to pay again if you have any questions or need errors fixed.
I am a tech savvy person, but the information input and set up is a little ridiculous. It asked the same questions over and over and would lose all info if the app timed out of you moved pages. Then when you finally get through, a virtual assistant comes on to ask all the same questions you just answered. And “doesn’t understand” simple terms. I am desperate for the medical care so I continued, this will continue to be my last room. On the positive note, the visit with the physician was great. Direct to the point and informative. He was very nice and understanding of personal situations. I would use him again.

Within ten minutes from the time I found this app on my health insurance website I was connected to a live doctor. She was incredibly smart and thorough. Would easily use again! Was able to call in an antibiotic for a mouth infection for me rather than having to wait two more days due to the holiday weekend.

The Amwell agents were awesome! The doctor we were waiting for was busy, so they took the initiative to find us a Doctor who was available to see us quicker. The doctor that we saw was very personable, friendly, caring, and efficient! Exactly what we needed! We will definitely use the service again! Thank you!

Fast, affordable, effective, informative, and pleasant. We finished up teen visit for flu-like symptoms. Straightforward intake questions, easy to navigate site/app. Total time spent was less than 30 min which is even factoring the time it took to install the app and enter the necessary data. I don’t know if this is typical for every visit, as it is midweek shortly after most lunch breaks are done. Even if it did take longer to connect with a provider, would it really matter that much when your waiting room is your house?

My daughter is sick and I chose Amwell provides to be seen since I was a former employee which worked for years at this company. I guess with all the reduction in forces, sales staff being let go, and even more, the urgent care platform is just as bad as Converge is with all the promises and never being able to deliver on it. I am heading to the urgent care since yet again, Amwell cannot deliver on a stable platform. I would rather wait at an urgent care or ED than use this solution ever again.

Really enjoy doing this from the comfort of home. No reason to head out to the Clinic or Urgent Care, as I am in pain. Dr. Francisca, was really patient and helpful during my appointment. She really knew my symptoms of my diverticulitis flare up. Thank you Dr. Francisca !
I love that Amwell is available as a busy working mom of 2 I just sometimes don’t have time to go to the drs office and this has made it possible for me to be seen quickly at home! Erin Collier is a wonderful provider, is so knowledgeable, as has the best bedside manner! I wish she was also located where I live in person as well!
This doctor was knowledgable and thorough However I am not pleased w AmWell platform be a use my insurance contract w AmWell is $0 copay and it forces me to pay for the visit moreover it is suppose to file on my behalf and they don’t.
I have tried since COVID to use this app for anything that we need for non emergency medical. Every single time we have been told that they can not help us. To start off we waited a total of an hour for a Dr after being disconnected twice. Then we finally get a Dr and he tells us we have to go to a Dr in person. Again. What is the point if they can't actually help with medical needs.
Video kept freezing could not hear provider clearly, Provider was very short in words and very felt rushed.
I knew what I needed as far as a prescription and this was easy and fast
